Our Design Process

Our Design Process

We work directly with private homeowners and with commercial clients such as architects, builders, house developers and residential commercial property sales agents.

We offer a showroom experience to our private clients, offering affordable and bespoke solutions tailored to your budget. The process we follow is the same for all projects, be it a single room or a complete new build.

Discovery

We offer a one-hour discovery appointment for clients who are unsure if they wish to commit to a full consultation. This is a friendly professional conversation that can help you move on to the next stage of your project. You might just need some advice on a colour scheme, or what to do with window dressings, space planning or even just to get a feel with whether you want to work with us.

Consultation

This phase is without doubt the most important part of the design process for us here at Denise Long Interiors. Through discussion we can really get to know you and understand what challenges you might be having with a space and what ideas you might already have. We will learn about how you intend to use the space and how you want the space to make you feel.

Design Concepts & Ideas

Following our meeting, we will spend time drawing up design concepts that we feel meet your brief and reflect your vision for the space. Mood boards with colours, textures and samples are provided for all projects and cover every aspect of the design including joinery, flooring, electrical design, wall coverings, fabrics, furniture, lighting artwork and accessories. This is the most exciting and collaborative part of the process for many clients and where your feedback is crucial, as we invite you to work with us to really help pull the design together.

Project Plan & Specification

Once the design concept has been approved, we will create a project plan and timeline with detailed technical specifications and a copy of the final design scheme. A detailed breakdown of costs will be presented aligned with the agreed budget.

Implementation & Delivery

This is where the magic happens as you see things come to life. Work will commence and all required trades and design team will be onsite to ensure the smooth running of the project and that that schedules are kept to. We will keep you updated though this phase and allow you to relax in the knowledge that your project is in good hands.
